Viento de cambio
María Depetris encabezó una gran movida en nuestra ciudad. Esta mujer descentralizó la cultura y el arte de los circuitos oficiales y los llevó a la periferia para hacerlos accesible a todos. En estos 13 años de vida, Somos Viento se consolidó como un verdadero espacio creativo en el que confluyen distintas expresiones artísticas, ideológicas y luchas sociales.

María Depetris tiene sobre la mesa del comedor la lista de la rifa del evento que organizó para celebrar los 13 años del espacio. Esas hojas están ahí, mezcladas con libros, lapiceras y papeles de todo tipo.
A la mesa se sube Sol, la gata curiosa del lugar, que es mirada de refilón por Tita, la perra que con un carácter más tranquilo se recuesta frente al calefactor.
La casa de María es tan parecida a las pintorescas que se ven por la zona de San Marcos Sierras, en el departamento de Cruz del Eje, y sin embargo, está enclavada en este pedazo de la chata pampa gringa.
La principal estructura es el galpón que ella transformó, hace 13 años, en Somos Viento Espacio Cultural y Biblioteca Popular. Uno de los desafíos más grande de esta mujer fue que descentralizó la actividad cultural, para llevarla a la periferia de la ciudad y hacerla accesible a otros sectores.
En esa esquina de Juan de Garay y Brasil, María superó una separación de bienes con su ex marido y la convirtió en un lugar donde se encuentran diferentes expresiones artísticas, ideológicas y luchas sociales.
"Una vez vino Raúl Castro del grupo Falta y Resto y me dijo: `Cuiden este galpón porque es territorio liberado y tenía razón porque es un lugar donde me siento libre, donde me empoderé como mujer y tomo las decisiones más importantes de mi vida", comenzó diciendo a LA VOZ DE SAN JUSTO "la Mari", como todos la llaman en el barrio y en el centro cultural.
Es admirable la energía que desborda y parece más una piba joven que una señora de 64 años. Parece que nunca se cansa y cuando abre el portón del galón expresó: "Cómo quisiera que `El Viento´ estuviera abierto todos los días, pero es difícil aunque reconozco que muchas cosas cambiaron desde que abrimos este lugar", apuntó.
María camina por los rincones y se acercó a una de las joyas que tiene en su espacio. Ella reconoció que la biblioteca popular superó sus expectativas. "En mi casa siempre hubo libros, toda mi familia leía. Para mí esto es muy emocionante y nos sentimos orgullosos", confesó.
El espacio está abierto a la lectura, escritura y teatro. También a la vida comunitaria, la lucha feminista y la igualdad. Con la justicia y la democracia como estandarte; María vive y siente la libertad en ese lugar que es su casa, pero también una prolongación de su expresión cultural e ideológica.
Somos Viento se autofinancia y no depende de ningún subsidio estatal. En este espacio trabajan 10 personas ad honorem y solo se les paga a los talleristas a través de colectas, ventas y salida a la gorra. "Por aquí circulan muchas personas, gente maravillosa de las cuales aprendo todo el tiempo. Es el lugar de los abrazos, del amor y del cariño", contó.

"Ganar" un espacio
María se divorció luego de 25 años de casada. En la separación de bienes, estaban la casa familiar de barrio Roque Sáenz Peña y un galpón de trabajo en la esquina de Juan de Garay y Brasil, frente a un campo muy lejos de todo. "Después de muchas deliberaciones en la justicia y luchar por mi casa, acepté quedarme con el galpón. No sabía qué iba a hacer con él y mi gente cercana me decía que lo vendiera y me comprara una casa, pero yo sabía que el galpón se iba a trasformar en algo".
Con sus hijos Julia, Marcos y Augusto ya independizados, María se fue a vivir a un departamento y ellos fueron los que la alentaron a tener un espacio cultural. "Tenía ganas de tener un lugar porque venía trabajando con ex alumnos de mi época como docente de Historia y Formación Ética y Ciudadana sobre Derechos Humanos y la Memoria desde una mirada artística, cultural y social", recordó Mari. Y agregó: "Una vez mi hijo Marcos me llamó de un viaje de mochilero desde Ushuaia y apenas le dije que ya tenía la llave, se comprometió que cuando volviera iba a pintar la fachada para que naciera un nuevo lugar de la cultura en San Francisco", contó Depetris.

Aquella solitaria vaca
Vacas con fardo volando fueron la creación de su hijo artista en las paredes del espacio cultural, las cuales causaron sorpresa en María. "Me imaginaba gente marchando, banderas de colores... pero él... pintó vacas. Le pregunté porqué hacía eso y me respondió: `Mirá, María -apuntando al oeste- ese campo que está frente al galpón es tu realidad. Hacia allá tenés que llevar la cultura y tenés que mover la realidad, este espacio está lejos de todo, donde las vacas vuelan. Hacia allá tiene que ir el viento de los cambios que ocurran´ y fue muy raro pero verdadero", recordó.
El nombre del espacio tiene también su historia. María relató que durante un viaje al Machu Pichu conoció a un joven que tenía remeras con frases que me encantaban. "La que más me gustó tenía una imagen del subcomandante Marcos y decía `Somos Viento´, haciendo referencia a una frase que escribió el mismo líder del Ejército Zapatista de Liberación Nacional en 2001".
Cuando volví se lo comuniqué a mi compañero y amigo "Pelado" Rodríguez, pero me dijo que `no le cerraba´. "Una noche, recibí un mensaje y era él. Me decía que había una canción de la banda española Amparanoia que se llamaba `Somos Viento´, que le había encantado y que ese era el nombre. Ahí comenzó todo", precisó.
La
biblioteca ocupa un espacio especial en Somos Viento
El último fin de semana de junio de 2006 abrió sus puertas "Somos Viento", pero María debía solucionar el problema de su casa. "Decidí que tenía que vivir acá, en la cultura. Para eso saqué un crédito, construí una pared divisoria y me instalé. Al principio no quería una puerta que dividiera mi casa con el Viento pero bueno, no quedó otra", recordó con felicidad María.
De
"afecto revolucionario"
La
docente jubilada construyó un monoambiente sencillo pero lleno de tesoros que
la gente que la visitó fue dejando: carteles que rezan frases como "Afecto
revolucionario" y fotografías de marchas se entremezclan con el pañuelo
blanco de Madres de Plaza de Mayo y el cartel de Víctor Crosetto, el abogado
sanfrancisqueño desaparecido el 28 de junio de 1977 en la ciudad de Córdoba y
asesinado al día siguiente.
"Mis hijos me dicen que ordene la casa que
tengo demasiadas cosas, pero acá está mi historia, mi lucha, las cosas que
explican lo que soy. Me siento empoderada y eso debo dárselo al resto, a las
generaciones que vienen".

Desde hace unos años, las vacas que volaban fueron desapareciendo y las paredes del Viento se fueron cubriendo por los rostros de Violeta Parra, de Víctor Jara, escritores y exponentes chilenos que sedujeron a María en su adolescencia más rebelde. "Había que mejorar las paredes del Viento, pero Marcos decía que era un lugar diferente al de hace 13 años atrás. Por eso pasamos de las vacas a los escritores, letras, tambores y la bandera Wiphala", concluyó.
El galpón creció, su lucha también y se lo sigue cuidando porque ya es un tesoro de la ciudad, territorio liberado de la cultura y la expresión local. El viento sopla en Juan de Garay y Brasil, María es libre y el arte también.
