Unos seis mil chicos practican “otros” deportes en las escuelas
El Programa Deporte Educativo del gobierno de la provincia de Córdoba cambió las horas de Educación Física en los colegios ampliando la oferta deportiva.
Suena el timbre que anuncia la finalización del recreo y los niños corren con mucho entusiasmo porque saben que durante una hora van a disfrutar de una experiencia diferente y a la vez gratificante.
De un tiempo a esta parte, la hora de Educación Física incorporó la posibilidad de que alrededor de 6.000 niños y jóvenes de nuestra ciudad puedan practicar una decena de deportes considerados no convencionales. De esa cantidad, 5.180 niños asisten a 19 escuelas primarias entre cuarto y sexto grado mientras que otros 780 cursan entre primero y tercer año de 6 escuelas secundarias sanfrancisqueñas.
Esto permite que sea cada vez más común observar a niños desde los 9 años practicando golf, tiro con arco, judo, karate, tenis, rugby, tenis de mesa, hockey, animación deportiva, natación o frontón.
Podrían sumar otros
Por el momento han quedado fuera de este proceso deportes como el vóley, handball o básquet mientras que están en carpeta disciplinas como el patín, el triatlón, escalada deportiva y ciclismo que podrían sumarse al resto de los deportes.
Esta actividad se desarrolla en el marco del Programa Deporte Educativo, una iniciativa del gobierno de la provincia de Córdoba que en las escuelas primarias de San Francisco se lleva a cabo por quinto año consecutivo.
De los clubes a las escuelas
La crisis económica también afecta a los clubes, donde cada vez menos chicos hacen actividades al no poder su familia afrontar el costo de la cuota.
Ante este panorama, la propuesta educativa, libre y gratuita, despierta aún mayor interés.
En la misma, las distintas disciplinas deportivas se rotan con el objetivo de que los estudiantes puedan tener un conocimiento acabado de la práctica de cada una. Para eso, desde el Ministerio de Educación se busca que las escuelas reciban a todas las disciplinas deportivas aunque esto no se presenta como un desafío sencillo.
Deportes no populares
El inspector de Educación Física, Gabriel Cardetti, recordó que "el primer deporte que implementamos en las escuelas y que luego llevó muchos niños a los clubes fue el hockey".
Sobre la elección de los deportes, señaló en diálogo con LA VOZ DE SAN JUSTO que "generalmente se trata de deportes que no son los denominados convencionales sino más bien aquellos que no tienen difusión masiva".
Con el correr de los años en los que se puso en práctica el Programa Deporte Educativo "creció la cantidad de chicos que practican tiro con arco o que van a jugar al golf, que practican judo o bien cualquier otro deporte dentro de este programa".
Para mayor acceso a la disciplina también fuera del colegio, Cardetti comentó que "el golf ha becado a niños y lo mismo sucedió en el tiro con arco y el rugby".
"El deporte saca a los chicos de la calle"
Es sabido que el deporte cumple una función social, más en estos tiempos, y contiene a los chicos. Precisamente hacia ese objetivo se orientó el Programa Deporte Educativo
"El deporte saca a los chicos de la calle", afirmó Cardetti. Y agregó que "el espacio de jornada extendida fue concebido para que los chicos tengan más horas de escolaridad y dentro de eso, potenciamos la práctica de estos deportes no populares".
Los resultados que arroja la experiencia son más que alentadores. "Los chicos participan de esta experiencia con mucho entusiasmo. Están muy 'enchufados' con estas disciplinas deportivas".
Ante los buenos resultados, desde el Ministerio de Educación se analiza la posibilidad de extender el programa a la currícula general de la materia, mientras tanto, seguirá en el espacio de jornada extendida.
