Se quintuplicaron las consultas en el Iturraspe y confirman cinco casos de tos convulsa
Además hay un caso de Gripe A. Los pacientes son todos bebés. Por el frío, se disparó la demanda de atención en la guardia; también en el internado. Los cuadros respiratorios y la circulación de gripe viral son los principales responsables de este pico.
En lasúltimas semanas el Hospital"J. B. Iturraspe" se quintuplicaron las consultas por Infecciones Respiratorias Agudas Bajas (Irab) y, aunque el nosocomio no se encuentra sobresaturado, trabaja intensamente con el 80 % de ocupación en las 18 camas de Pediatría ya que la internación también se incrementó en un 25 %.
Según informó a LA VOZ DE SAN JUSTO la vicedirectora del Hospital y referente del área de Epidemiología, Verónica Pepino, mientras hace casi dos meses se atendían 110 pacientes por semana en la guardia, actualmente se atienden 85 por día, unos 595 por semana. Esto significa que la demanda de la consulta sufrió un incremento del 300 %, debido a la llegada del frío que facilita la propagación de los virus.
En pediatría, se incrementó un 25 % la ocupación de camas por las complicaciones respiratorias y las consultas crecieron un 22, 6 % . Por otro lado, en el servicio de Neonatología ese aumento fue del 43,86 % en las internaciones y del 20 % en las consultas debido a estas enfermedades.
Desde el Hospital instan a vacunarse contra la tos convulsa, una enfermedad altamente contagiosa cuyos pacientes se triplicaron en la provincia de Córdoba. Para los casos del virus sincicial respiratorio (VSR), la causa más frecuente de la bronquiolitis,no hay vacunas preventivas, pero llaman a tomar medidas para evitar la propagación, como manteniendo hábitos de limpieza con el constante lavado de la manos o uso de alcohol en gel.
Los virus que circulan
Desde mediados del otoño predomina la circulación del virus sincitial respiratorio (VSR), la causa más frecuente de la bronquiolitis. También se sumó un caso de Gripe A con un bebé internado.
En tanto, se detectaron cinco casos de tos convulsa-todos bebés-, dos de los pacientes son de Frontera y uno se encuentra internado con asistencia respiratoria, y los restantes son de San Francisco y evolucionan favorablemente.
Ante esta situación, las autoridades sanitarias instaron a fortalecer la vigilancia epidemiológica y tomar medidas preventivas completando la vacunación en niños de 6 meses a 2 años, embarazadas, mayores de 65 y grupos de riesgo, o sea, personas con enfermedades crónicas o inmunodeprimidos.
La doctora Verónica Pepino, vicedirectora del Hospital, explicó que los cuadros respiratorios y la circulación de gripe viral son los principales responsables de este pico.
Todo controlado
Pepino aseguró que la situación está controlada y que el aumento detectado"es el esperado para la época invernal. No existe una sobresaturación en el sistema de atención del nosocomio".
La médica afirmó que se trabaja plenamente con una atención a demanda de los pacientes que llegan a la guardia y aclaró que, pese a que existe una ocupación del 80 % en las camas de Pediatría,"hay cupo disponibles".
La vicedirectora del Hospital destacó que gracias a las remodelaciones edilicias que se realizaron se cuenta con mayor complejidad y también con profesionales capacitados para el manejo de los pacientes y tratamientos.
