Robótica: abriendo puertas al futuro
El camino que está abriendo la Facultad Regional San Francisco es un aporte invalorable a la educación de niños y jóvenes sanfrancisqueños para lidiar con los desafíos enormes que la revolución tecnológica les presenta.
La Facultad Regional San Francisco de la UTN anunció que hace pocas semanas finalizó el primer curso de robótica infantil, en el que menores de entre 10 y 11 años tuvieron un primer acercamiento a los conceptos básicos de programación, electrónica y estructuras mecánicas. Este curso se dio en el marco de las iniciativas del Grupo de investigación en Robótica Educativa (Gire) de la casa de altos estudios y tuvo como objetivo introducir en el tema a los menores, utilizando herramientas lúdicas que pueden ser también implementadas en el sistema educativo formal.
El mundo actual presenta desafíos inéditos para las nuevas generaciones. En este contexto, se hace imperiosa la capacitación en las tecnologías que dominan la vida de las personas. Así lo han entendido en la UTN configurando actividades de extensión académica como la señalada. Pero también lo están haciendo las distintas jurisdicciones educativas del país -algunas con más y otras con menos avances- para incorporar la robótica como una de las facetas centrales de la formación en habilidades relacionadas a las tecnologías digitales. Por ejemplo, en la provincia de Córdoba se está llevando adelante el programa Escuelas del Futuro, en el marco del Plan Nacional de Educación Digital, orientado a garantizar aprendizajes y reforzar el desarrollo de propuestas de incorporación tecnológica en los diseños didácticos y pedagógicos.
Se trata de modelos de enseñanza y aprendizaje que ya están avanzados en otras naciones. Los textos pedagógicos sobre la materia señalan que a través de la robótica se implementan actividades creativas y colaborativas en pos del desarrollo de la capacidad de resolución de problemas, de manera crítica y analítica, poniendo al alumno como protagonista en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. Es un "medio de aprendizaje" que facilita experimentar el paso de las creaciones de un estado mental a uno físico, de lo abstracto a lo concreto.
Por cierto, el objetivo no debe ser generar pequeños programadores. Por el contrario, se trata de que los estudiantes comprendan las lógicas que están detrás de todas las prácticas sociales mediadas por instrumentos y sistemas digitales. En este punto, la escuela a veces ha quedado rezagada, por lo que iniciativas como la de la UTN permiten abrir el panorama para acompañar la necesaria adquisición de criterios y conocimientos para adaptarse a la cultura digital.
Por ello, resulta más que valioso el aporte que la Universidad Tecnológica está llevando a cabo en esta materia. Merece destacarse además el anuncio de que en un futuro cercano se lanzarán nuevas ediciones del curso para los niños y otras propuestas más avanzados para alumnos de nivel secundario. Así también las diferentes ediciones de las competencias de robótica acrecientan el interés por esta temática en las nuevas generaciones.
