Para los primeros vacunados contra el coronavirus, su ejemplo valió para que otros se inmunicen
Convicción y fe, la salud personal y colectiva atraviesan las historias que la campaña federal de inmunización contra el coronavirus trajo a la luz desde distintos rincones del país.
A trece días de recibir la primera dosis de la vacuna Sputnik V contra el coronavirus, trabajadoras y trabajadores de salud de los hospitales Argerich, Posadas y San Martín de La Plata, no tuvieron efectos adversos graves, expresaron sentir mayor protección a la hora de trabajar y aseguraron que su ejemplo sirvió para que pacientes y otros colegas decidieran vacunarse.
"Me sentí súper bien, sólo tuve un poco de sensibilidad en el sitio de inoculación como pasa algunas veces con la vacuna de la gripe, pero ningún otro efecto", contó a Télam Fabiana Geliberti, una médica clínica de 51 años y una de las cinco primeras personas vacunadas contra el coronavirus del Hospital Argerich el día que comenzó la campaña nacional.
Geliberti aseguró que "lo mismo sucedió con la mayoría de mis compañeros, alguno tuvo un poco de fiebre, que se pasó con un antitérmico común, un poco de cefalea, pero nada distinto a lo que pasa con la vacuna de la gripe".
Fabiana, también gerontóloga y especializada en cuidados paliativos, relató sentirse "mucho más protegida y realmente aliviada" mientras está en su puesto de trabajo en la guardia del hospital porteño.
Pero más allá de lo individual, la médica destacó un "efecto contagio" de las imágenes que replicaron varios medios con ella vacunándose: "Muchos pacientes me llamaron y me dijeron que cuando vieron que me había vacunado se sentían más confiados y que cuando estuviera disponible para los mayores de 60 se iban a vacunar", señaló.
El 29 de diciembre, cuando Argentina comenzó a vacunar contra el coronavirus, Geliberti aseguró a Télam que al comienzo de la pandemia, su miedo era que sucedieran en Argentina "las (mismas) imágenes de las terapias intensivas en Italia o de las calles de Ecuador".
"Pensaba que podía llegar a tener que elegir a cuál paciente mandar a terapia y a cuál no y me aterraba. Por suerte, eso nunca sucedió gracias a la respuesta rápida del Estado nacional, a la cuarentena temprana que tuvimos que permitió al Gobierno poder reconstruir un sistema de salud que había sido devastado", enfatizó.
Testigo y protagonista del sufrimiento por la enfermedad y la muerte causada directa pero también indirectamente por el coronavirus (por ejemplo, muchos familiares no pudieron despedir a sus seres queridos aunque no hubiesen contraído la Covid-19), Geliberti destacó la importancia de que "las personas tengan confianza en la seguridad de las vacunas que brindan un principio de horizonte para poner fin a la pandemia".
"El momento de la vacunación, un hecho tan cúlmine en el contexto de la pandemia que estamos viviendo, generó un efecto en aquellas y aquellos compañeros que dudaban", aseguró por su parte la enfermera Juliana Torquati (38 años), del hospital platense San Martín, quien fue la primera persona del país en recibir la dosis de la vacuna Sputnik V el martes 29 de diciembre.
"Entonces -continuó- al ver que algunos ya nos vacunamos y que somos cada vez más, muchas personas se replantearon las versiones que les llegaban o los prejuicios que tenían y hoy se quieren vacunar".
Torquati informó que "a las 40 horas que me vacunaron tuve un moderado dolor de cabeza, decaimiento y sueño; me tomé un paracetamol de un gramo, hice dos horas de reposo, me bañé y ya me sentía bien y no volví a tener ningún síntoma; lo mismo o menos le sucedió a mis compañeros".

La enfermera, que trabaja en el área de terapia intensiva, indicó que "a medida que van pasando las horas y los días es inevitable no sentirse un poco más aliviada, sobre todo trabajando en un área crítica; aunque falta otra dosis, uno sabe que la vacuna está haciendo su trabajo a nivel celular y eso brinda una sensación de más seguridad".
El médico de terapia intensiva Francisco Traverso (37 años), el primer vacunado del Hospital Posadas, no sintió más alivio porque nunca se había sentido "inseguro": "Nunca me sentí inseguro trabajando, tuvimos la suerte de tener todos los elementos de protección disponibles y fuimos muy rigurosos con el uso; pero además nunca tuve miedo por mí, sí por personas cercanas que tienen comorbilidades", afirmó.
El primer vacunado del Hospital Posadas describió que no tuvo ninguna reacción adversa.
Traverso describió que no tuvo ninguna reacción adversa: "Lo único que sentí es un poco de molestia en el brazo el segundo día, inclusive menos que lo que me pasa con la vacuna contra la influenza; otros compañeros tuvieron un poco de fiebre, que es algo esperable".
Al tratarse de personal de salud activo, como en el caso de las otras dos entrevistadas, el médico intensivista describió que "el seguimiento de la vacuna se da en el propio hospital", donde tenían que notificar los efectos adversos que se registran en el Sistema Integrado de Información Sanitaria de Argentina (Siisa).
De acuerdo al Segundo Informe de Vigilancia de Seguridad en Vacunas, realizado por el Ministerio de Salud en conjunto con la Comisión Nacional de Seguridad en Vacunas, el 99,3% de los 1.088 efectos adversos -eventos supuestamente atribuidos a vacunas e inmunizaciones (ESAVI)- registrados en el SIISA tras la aplicación de la primera dosis de la Sputnik V fueron "leves o moderados".
Al día de hoy, Argentina lleva vacunadas con la primera dosis de la vacuna desarrollada por el Centro ruso de Investigaciones Gamaleya cerca de 100.000 personas, la mayoría trabajadores de salud de acuerdo al Plan Estratégico para la Vacunación contra Covid-19.
"Que exista hoy una vacuna, que haya llegado a la Argentina más allá de que falta la segunda dosis, para el personal sanitario es una herramienta muy importante y la estábamos esperando desde que todo comenzó; también estamos más instruidos y conocemos mejor cómo cuidarnos y cuidar a los demás y a pesar del agotamiento, estamos dispuestos a seguir dando pelea hasta que todo esto se acabe", concluyó Torquati.
Santa Cruz: "Tono", el enfermero al que lo sostienen la vacuna, sus hijos y su fe
"Si sobrevivimos, seremos leyendas. Tendremos mucho para contar", dijo José "Tono" Pérez, quien, en su condición de enfermero en el "área roja" del Hospital Regional Río Gallegos, fue uno de los primeros trabajadores de salud en ser inmunizado con el primer envío de la Sputnik V que el Gobierno nacional mandó a la provincia de Santa Cruz.
"A mí lo que me interesa es que (la vacuna de origen ruso) otorgue inmunidad, mucha o poca, pero que pare la hemorragia de vidas que tenemos", respondió Pérez al ser consultado por Télam sobre si había experimentado algún temor al momento que le fue aplicada.
"Ojalá sirva. Días atrás, nos enteramos que dos personas jóvenes que atendimos acá (el "área roja") murieron en la unidad de terapia intensiva; y duele, duele cada vez más", se lamentó Pérez, que, en su caso, logró recuperarse del coronarivus que contrajo tiempo atrás.

La familia que este santacruceño formó hace 22 años, luego de 5 de novio con su actual esposa, está integrada por dos hijos, Génesis (21) y Santiago (18).
"Ellos -señaló a Télam- son mis razones para seguir dándole cuando parece que no doy más". Sus hijos, reiteró, y también su fe evangélica y la pasión que siente por el arte del tatuaje.

"Llevo una semana vacunado y no tuve ninguna reacción adversa, apenas una molestia en el brazo, en el lugar de la aplicación, pero nada más", sostuvo ante Télam Manuel Boutureira, quien con sus 30 años de experiencia como bioquímico es el actual jefe del servicio de Laboratorio del Hospital Regional Ushuaia Gobernador Ernesto Campos.
"Siempre supe que a partir de la llegada de la vacuna se iba a producir el comienzo del fin de la pandemia", señaló Boutureira al ser consultado sobre cómo experimentó el hecho de ser elegido por la provincia insular para ser uno de los primeros inmunizados.
"Viví -dijo- un momento de alegría y esperanza".
En tanto, Cristian Svetlitze, quien se desempeña como jefe de enfermería de terapia intensiva en el Hospital Regional de Río Grande, contó a Télam que, una vez inmunizado, "sentí como un desgano a las pocas horas, y nada más. Tomé un ibuprofeno y se me pasó enseguida".
"El cuerpo puede dormir y recuperarse, pero la mente se agota. No solo por los rituales diarios de protección, sino por la cercanía con la muerte ajena. En 2020 he visto morir más gente que en 32 años de enfermero", reveló Svetlitze.
En Santa Fe, el médico que quebró resistencias: "No había tal demonio en la vacuna"
Carlos Zucchella fue una suerte de caso testigo que terminó quebrando cierta resistencia a ser vacunados, manifestadas por algunos de sus colegas en el Hospital José María Cullen, emplazado en la ciudad de Santa Fe.
"No había tal demonio dentro de la vacuna" Sputnik V, dijo Zucchella a Télam, sin ocultar la dosis de humor que imprimió a su relato.
"Mi experiencia -agregó- fue muy buena, no tuve ningún tipo de síntoma, ningún tipo de dolor, nada", resumió quien es médico coordinador de la unidad de terapia intensiva del hospital Cullen.
"Hay que tomar consciencia -evaluó- que el coronavirus es una enfermedad muy grave y que la vacuna nos va a ayudar a poder salir delante y a retomar una vida lo más normal posible, si es que alguna vez la retomamos".
"Soy una persona de ciencia y confío. Se trabaja (de modo) muy serio. Estoy confiado en todas las vacunas, no solo en esta", dijo Zucchella en relación a la Sputnik V y a las producidas por otras farmacéuticas mundiales, con las que está en plena negociación la administración que encabeza Alberto Fernández.
Santiago del Estero: María y una vida "como todos los días" tras ser vacunada
María Sánchez, enfermera desde hace 22 años, 12 de los cuales los pasó trabajando en la unidad de terapia intensiva del Hospital Independencia, de la ciudad de Santiago del Estero, dijo a Télam que hace "vida normal, como todos los días" desde que fue inmunizada con la primera dosis de la vacuna producida por el Centro ruso Gamaleya.
"Sé que algunas compañeras tuvieron febrícula o decaimiento, algo habitual y esperable. Sin embargo, yo no tuve ningún efecto y siempre tuve confianza en la ciencia y en Dios", relató a esta agencia.
"Por eso le digo (a la población) que si tiene la posibilidad de vacunarse, lo haga, que confíe, que se informe como lo hice yo y así no tendrá dudas porque (la Sputnik V) es segura", puntualizó.
Jujuy: la médica que se vacunó por cuidar su salud y la de los otros
La médica jujeña Claudia Acosta (53) fue la primera mujer de la provincia en recibir la Sputnik V el 29 de diciembre, el día de inicio de la campaña federal de inmunización, tras la cual manifestó algunos síntomas dentro de las 24 horas y al segundo día, solo fatiga.
Desde su lugar de trabajo, Acosta, quien es jefa del Servicio de Infectología del Hospital jujeño San Roque, relató a Télam que aquellos síntomas "eran los previsibles" y que ahora está a la espera de la segunda dosis.
"Conocía los efectos colaterales, que no son exclusivos de esta vacuna sino de todo tipo de vacunas. Una es madre y también ha vacunado a los niños y conoce que eso son los efectos esperados, pero además me habían advertido en el momento de la vacunación", dijo a Télam.
La decisión de vacunarse fue "personal" y eso quedó firme cuando en vísperas de Navidad las autoridades provinciales y del hospital donde reviste tareas fueron a saludar al personal del San Roque, centro de referencia de casos de Covid-19.
"Aquel día hicieron un comentario sobre el operativo que se venía y quedé como candidata firme", recordó, y añadió que en su decisión talló además la intención de "cuidar a los otros".
"Tuve Covid-19 a fines de julio pero lo cursé de forma asintomática. Me hice controles y no quedó ningún rastro en mi de que haya padecido la enfermedad, tampoco tuve secuelas", completó Acosta.
Testimonios en San Francisco
El director médico de Ucemed, el doctor Diego Lahournere, compartí en sus redes sociales una reflexión tras recibir la vacuna rusa. "No creíamos, llegó, nos cuidamos y cuidamos, curamos, algunos nos enfermamos, ahora nos vacunamos y seguiremos cuidando y cuidándonos para dar lucha a esta pandemia del coronavirus", expresó y agradeció al Hospital Iturraspe y su personal "por la inmensa tarea cuidando a la primera línea".
El doctor Saúl Kohan, jefe del Servicio de Ginecología y Obstetricia del Hospital Iturraspe, también plasmó en sus redes su satisfacción en un día histórico: "Martes (29 de diciembre de 2020) de plenitud. Con un Estado presente en el primer día de vacunación. Tantos meses, tantas familias del personal de Salud pendientes de lo cotidiano, tanto cuidado propio y ajeno. Tantos afectos. En un tiempo corto nos tocará vacunarnos al resto. Para cuidarnos entre todos, porque somos comunidad".
"Mi esposo murió de covid, al vacunarme pensé en él. Nada lo va a traer de vuelta, pero la vacuna me da esperanza". Natalia Elizabeth Sosa trabaja en el servicio de limpieza del Hospital Iturraspe, recibió la primera de las dos dosis que requiere la vacuna elaborada por el centro Gamaleya. En noviembre, el coronavirus se llevó a su esposo y padre de su hija, Carlos Daniel Luque, de 44 años. Ella también se contagió.
