Limones y naranjas por las nubes: la estacionalidad impacta en los precios
En este mes de enero, en las verdulerías, las frutas citrus tuvieron un alza muy notoria.
La inflación golpea cada vez más al bolsillo y los alimentos son los que llevan la delantera en el aumento de precios. En este mes de enero, en las verdulerías, las frutas citrus tuvieron un alza muy notoria.
El limón fue el que más subió llegando a costar el kilo entre $250 y $350, mientras que la naranja se fue a $160. Por otro lado aunque no es un cítrico, la manzana también está cara -cuesta hasta $300 el kilo- porque se cosecha en febrero y se guarda en cámaras y en eso influye el precio de la energía para mantener el frío.
LA VOZ DE SAN JUSTO recorrió distintas verdulerías donde aseguraron que entre las causas de los aumentos se encuentran la estacionalidad, ya que los cítricos están fuera de estación en esta época y escasean, por lo que muchos son importados, la falta de lluvias del año pasado y también el gasto fijo en el transporte.
Asimismo recordaron que a fines de marzo cuando comience la temporada los precios van ceder y estabilizarse.
En la verdulería "Libertad", ubicada en la esquina de Juan B. Justo y Libertad, su propietario Franco Cejas explicó que la causa del aumento es porque está fuera de temporada. "Es normal que frutas y verduras aumenten de precio cuando hace mucho calor o mucho frío. Lo que está pasando con el limón y la naranja es por la falta de lluvias que tuvimos el año pasado", aseguró.
"Al no llover la planta produce menos frutos y al haber poca producción, aumenta el precio porque la demanda es mayor -dijo-. Es normal para esta época que aumenten porque se van terminando las de verano hasta que comience a fines de marzo la producción de invierno, ahí el precio va a bajar y estabilizarse".
Agregó que también influye en el precio "el gasto fijo por el transporte y todo lo necesario para que el negocio esté en funcionamiento, más de una vez es mayor ese gasto que el producto. Por ejemplo hoy la lechuga está muy barata, un cajón cuesta $150, pero el envase cuesta $200, más caro el cajón de madera que el contenido. En tanto el flete, si viene de Mar del Plata cuesta $70 y si llega de Mendoza $100".
Los limones que hay se exportan
Desde Punto Veg, ubicada en Ramón y Cajal 250, Carlos Pioli coincidió en que el aumento afecta a los cítricos como el limón, naranjas y pomelos. "El tema es que el limón como otros citrus están fuera de época y lo que queda se exporta. Hay limones de cuatro estaciones pero no son iguales a los de estación".
Agregó que ante la falta de limones "se están importando de España o Chile pero son mucho más caros y no son tan buenos como los que tenemos en la Argentina. Actualmente se están trayendo naranjas de España que cuestan entre $250 y $280 el kilo según el tamaño. Cuando comience la temporada el precio va a bajar".
Dijo también que otro factor que influye "es el precio de los insumos, que están a valor dólar como los productos para fertilizar, cosechar y la mano de obra, el transporte. Los márgenes se achicaron mucho por los costos de la mercadería que tiene un 30% de margen de pérdida según la calidad".
Finalmente, en la verdulería El Cholo, en la esquina de Dante Alighieri y 1° de Mayo, Sergio Suárez dijo que se debe "a que los citrus son de invierno y el aumento es por una cuestión totalmente estacional, todos los años pasa lo mismo y aumentan, para sustituirlos hay que importarlos".
"También influyen el transporte, los fletes, los gastos fijos. Cuando empiece el frío con la nueva cosecha, bajará el precio de estas frutas", afirmó.
Frutas importadas
Otras frutas que aumentaron muchísimo son las importadas, como la palta, kiwi o las bananas que se traen de otros países. Según afirmaron los verduleros "estas frutas aumentan de acuerdo al valor del dólar".
