En lo que respecta al cotejo, si bien el dueño de casa fue superior, o al menos mostró mejores intenciones, un descuido en defensa le permitió al visitante ponerse arriba en el marcador. En una jugada que no parecía tener mayor riesgo, salió un pelotazo largo que no pudieron despejar y ante una floja salida del arquero, el delantero de Santa Clara, Escobar, definió para establecer la primera ventaja.
De manera llamativa, el gol de Sportivo envalentonó a La Hidráulica que al mismo momento de volver a poner la pelota en juego se fue con todo para adelante.
Con Eder Molina manejando el balón y las apariciones de Ponce y Silioni por los costados, el local se fue aproximándo y logró igualar rápido a través de Matías Ponce, que definió cruzado y dejó sin chances al arquero rival, cuando se jugaban 17 minutos.
La tónica del juego siguió igual. La Hidráulica controlando el balón y Sportivo apostando a alguna jugada aislada.
A los 30 minutos, de manera merecida por lo hecho en la primera mitad, el "rojinegro" se puso en ventaja con un tanto de Maximiliano Taborda y así se fueron al descanso.
En el complemento pasó poco. El local se conformó con el resultado y si bien tuvo alguna chance para aumentar la diferencia, no pudo con el arquero Mendoza.
Por su parte, Santa Clara careció de ideas para llegar con peligro y ahora deberá luchar en su casa para dar vuelta la serie, la cual se definirá el venidero domingo desde las 18.
