Histórico triunfo de Los Gladiadores
El seleccionado "albiceleste" venció por primera vez al campeón europeo, España, y llega afilado al Mundial de Egipto.
El seleccionado argentino de handball masculino, Los Gladiadores, consiguió este jueves una gran victoria sobre España por 25-19 en el último partido preparatorio antes del Mundial de Egipto.
En el triangular "Natividad", disputado en el estadio Universal Sport Hall Cska de Moscú, los argentinos se impusieron sobre el vigente campeón europeo por primera vez en la historia con un buen nivel de juego. El miércoles pasado, perdieron frente al local Rusia, otra potencia, por un ajustado 22-21.
El equipo nacional, que dirige el español Manuel Cadenas, ya cuenta con una de sus figuras, Diego Simonet, quien se sumó al plantel en Moscú. Su hermano menor, Pablo, se acoplará al seleccionado directamente en Egipto.
"Estoy muy contento con el rendimiento. El partido fue muy bueno para nosotros. Los arqueros cada vez están mejor, también la defensa y tuvimos mucha paciencia en ataque", expresó Simonet en declaraciones a Télam desde Rusia.
"El torneo me vino me vino bien para volver a meterme en el grupo para llegar con confianza al mundial", afirmó Simonet, doble medallista panamericano (oro en Guadalajara, México, 2011 y plata en Toronto, Canadá, 2015), y que representó al país en los Juegos Olímpicos de Londres 2012.
