HDR y el rock de la vieja escuela nacional
Un bajo está ansioso por ser tocado en una sala de ensayo de barrio Sarmiento. Están los Hijos del Rigor sentados charlando de ellos, del rock, de la música castellana que los marcó y que los impulsa a ensayar todas las semanas aunque haga frío y viento, aunque la noche para este género haya casi muerto.

HDR son las siglas de High Dynamic Range y también las de Hijos del Rigor una banda de nuestra ciudad que se junta entre semana por las noches a tocar y revivir viejos temas del rock nacional y combinarlos con los propios. Lo que podría llamarse "vieja escuela" como lo apuntaron ellos mismos.
Esta vez están en barrio Sarmiento, en la sala que tiene Nacho en el fondo de su casa y la que abrieron en una de las noches más frías para salir solo por el gusto de tocar ... y para charlar mientras afinan el bajo y las guitarras, la "bata" o la propia voz para ensayar.
Hay una silla para mí y ellos están alrededor. No miran... no a mí sino a sus instrumentos. "Franco (Bruno) dice que está en camino...", dijo Gastón Rosa así al pasar. De fondo Juan Manuel Gauna me cuenta que "tuvieron varios miembros antes de formar HDR".
"Pasaron un montón de músico hasta que se abrió el cielo y encontramos este ejemplar (Gastón) con el que nos quedamos. Hace dos años tuvimos con esta formación la primer tocada porque esta estructura de HDR es nueva", apuntaron a dúo Juan e Ignacio Carioni.
"Nuestro rock no deja de ser de la vieja escuela pero no deja de ser nacional", coincidieron entre todos. Igual cada uno tiene sus propios gustos como La Renga, Los Redondos, Guasones, Ratones Paranoicos... "Charly, el más groso de todos", Las Pelotas, Divididos hasta algunas cosas de Andrés Calamaro.
Mientras tanto de fondo Gastón sigue jugando de cierta forma con el bajo... y lo hará durante una larga pero divertida entrevista con LA VOZ DE SAN JUSTO. Les dije que a mí me gustaba "destapar las raíces" y ahora les tocaba desempolvar cómo fue que surgió todo para ellos ... unos auténticos Hijos del Rigor.
Menos covers
Depende el show pero los HDR sostuvieron que "prefieren los temas propios" aunque suelen intercalarse con interpretaciones de éxitos del rock nacional. El foco se va para las canciones propias: "Volcamos cosas personales, cosas que ocurren o vimos", puntualizaron Franco y Juan Manuel.
Ellos son los que en general las componen aunque siempre termina siendo algo que tiene aportes de todos. Por ejemplo, incluso coinciden en canciones que de alguna manera los marcaron como "Interior" o "Estigma", más ésta última porque "tiene power" y "habla del abuso infantil y del maltrato".
Los covers intentan que no sean el foco de atención en sus presentaciones, "sirven para cortar" y también para "mantener" alerta a la gente. Por eso coincidieron en que a veces eligen algo de La Renga o Los Redondos, pero en realidad no se trata de bandas sino de canciones generales que permitan hacer sentir cómodos y enganchar a todos.
"Buscamos algo de lo que escuchábamos antes, de la adolescencia que tuvimos", agregaron. Ahí está un poco el secreto de poder definirse - aunque no les gusta hacerlo - como un grupo de la vieja escuela: "Hay muchos géneros dentro del rock, pero nosotros tenemos incorporado el de los '80 quizá y es lo que más nos influye y venimos arrastrando. La formación no tiene teclado y eso es parte de lo clásico donde hay dos guitarras un bajo y la batería".
Menos espacios para el rock
El rock sufre una época de transformaciones, hay más subgéneros, bandas nuevas pero algo de la vieja época se está perdiendo. Por eso algunos se aventuran a decir que incluso "podría morir".
Los HDR no creen que desaparezca y menos que este género tendría que quedarse en el under: "Nos pondríamos muy elitistas y no debe ser así. Pero es cierto que no surgieron más bandas masivas y grandes como antes".
La cantidad de bandas a nivel nacional es también vivenciada en San Francisco: "Hay muchas bandas, bien conformadas que intentan hacerlo de forma profesional. Hace diez años con el Llenate ya había un listado grande".
Se mezclan así músicos y subgéneros de rock que tienen su público y hacen sus pasos como grupos en la ciudad ... pero para los chicos falta algo. "Pasa que no hay lugar donde tocar, además se exige demasiado para una cosa que no deja tanta ganancia, tenés que pagar un precio muy elevado solo para tocar", subrayó Juan Manuel.
Sin embargo hay más. "La ordenanza mató la noche, ésta noche que era diferente de los chicos que buscan que no hagan previas. Eso no es esto", ratificaron los HDR. Y dentro de ese mundo de quienes "se cargan un show encima por el gusto de tocar" rescataron el empuje que da a todos los músicos Britannia.
El secreto de Hijos del Rigor para juntarse entre semana después de trabajar es pasarla bien. Sus trabajos están en otros lados pero la música los unió e hizo amigos, el rock los inmortalizó. Disfrutan de tocar y por eso el deseo de Gastón que toda la entrevista jugó con el bajo se hace realidad. Empieza el ensayo y solo hay tiempo para ponerse unos auriculares y escuchar lo mejor del rock nacional con impronta local.
