Gabriela, la “abuela mamá” que no se rinde
La pandemia le arrebató una hija y pese al dolor más terrible para una madre, la vida la puso en otro lugar que le da la fuerza para seguir adelante: criar a Emilia y Tomás. Una historia de esperanza en esta Navidad.

La pandemia pegó duro en su vida y su familia. Gabriela Taborda perdió dos hijos en menos de un año, Matías Correa que se quitó la vida y Yessica Correa quien falleció por covid en agosto pasado luego de tener a su beba.
En medio del gran dolor y el duelo, Gabriela se convirtió en "abuela mamá" de Emilia de seis meses y Tomás de 15 años, los hijos de Yessica. Dueña de una gran fortaleza, sigue adelante gracias a la unidad de su gran familia, su pareja Pablo Ascua y sus hijos Marcelo, Micaela, Alejo, Melani y Benjamín.
Aunque su historia es dura, hoy se convierte en un camino de esperanza, iluminado por los "nietos hijos" que quedan y que son su motor, su razón de vivir. Celebrará una Navidad diferente, pero como siempre, marcada por el amor que sana y todo lo soporta.
"Yessica y Matías eran alegría, los recordamos así, por eso después de esto no podemos quedarnos llorando, tenemos que seguir festejando la Navidad, la primera de Emilia. Vamos a hacerlo como hubieran querido mis hijos: unidos, en paz y felices", dijo emocionada Gabriela en diálogo con LA VOZ DE SAN JUSTO.
Con Emilia en los brazos que sonreía a todos, Gabriela aseguró que sus nietos "son todo, me despierto y la veo a Emilia y me da alegría, ella es toda sonrisa. Como familia la luchamos día a día y son mi motor, no sé cómo estarían sin ellos, nos fortalecemos entre todos".
Al recordar la partida de sus hijos aseguró: "Fueron dos impactos terribles, una pesadilla, primero Matías que no sabemos por qué tomo esa decisión y después Yessica que tuvo a Emilia a quien pudo conocer y darle de mamar, dos días después quedó intubada por la covid, pero no pudo salir adelante y falleció".

"La familia es la que te impulsa a seguir"
En esta Navidad, Gabriela reflexionó sobre la importancia de la unión familiar y de tener esperanza. "Hay que fortalecerse como familia, unirse ante todo lo malo que ocurre, la familia es lo que te impulsa a seguir adelante, porque no queda otra. A veces uno se queja por nada y cuando pasan estas cosas nos damos cuenta que es lo importante, dos pérdidas en un año es tremendo", dijo.
Agregó: "Tengo la esperanza que el virus se vaya y que no haya más muertes, mucha gente como nosotros también sufrió mucho por esto, nosotros no teníamos idea hasta que nos pasó. Fue de un día para el otro, nació Emilia y volvimos sin su mamá. Pido en esta Navidad que haya salud para todos, que nadie se enferme más".

Recuerdos felices en familia antes de la pandemia
La fuerza de la fe
El de este año no fue el primer golpe que sufrió Gabriela y su familia. Hace 5 años, nació su nieto Aaron Correa, hijo de Marcelo, con serios problemas de salud y el peor de los pronósticos, pero juntos siguieron adelante.
"Mi hijo y su esposa tienen mucha fuerza. Nunca me olvido cuando la doctora de Aaron me llamó cuando tenía días de nacido y me explicaba que no había más nada que hacer. Admiro la fortaleza de mi hijo Marcelo que en ese momento me dijo: 'Mami, el único que tiene la última palabra es Dios, no los médicos'. Hoy Aaron cumplió 5 años y está bien", dijo emocionada.
Aaron padece el síndrome Johanson Blizzard, una enfermedad muy poco frecuente que produce mala absorción intestinal de las grasas y otros nutrientes debido a un desarrollo anormal del páncreas. Además es electrodependiente, ya que debe estar conectado todo el tiempo a un aparato que le provee oxígeno.
