Frente a récord de casos, privados y Gobiernos locales podrán comprar vacunas en México

El gobierno de México autorizó a empresas privadas y a gobiernos locales a importar vacunas contra el coronavirus, afirmó el presidente Andrés Manuel López Obrador, en lo que parece una respuesta inmediata a la suba constante de casos, que llevaron a que ayer se registrara en el país el record de 22 mil contagios y 1.800 muertes por la pandemia.
"Cualquier empresa o gobierno local que quiera adquirir vacunas para aplicarlas en México tiene autorización", remarcó López Obrador, en su conferencia de prensa matutina, en la que explicó que quienes estén interesados en esa compra deberán presentar el contrato de compraventa y detalles de los lugares y población que vacunarán "para que no haya duplicidades".
También deberán informar las fechas de arribo de los biológicos y que estos sean producidos por las farmacéuticas "que ya están autorizadas en México o están por autorizarse", apuntó López Obrador, según la agencia AFP.
El mandatario prometió que "no habrá retrasos" en el otorgamiento de permisos, y explicó que la decisión se adoptó para que no se "malinterprete" que el Gobierno tiene "el monopolio de la aplicación de las vacunas".

Como en casi todos los lugares, el plan tiene varias etapas y arrancó con los trabajadores de la salud que atiende a contagiados, a partir de las dosis del dúo farmacéutico estadounidense-alemán Pfizer/BioNTech.
Hasta ayer, se habían aplicado 567.379 dosis de la vacuna, que requiere dos inyecciones con un intervalo de 21 días. De esa cifra, 18.510 personas completaron ya su esquema de inmunización, de acuerdo con datos oficiales.
Entre febrero y marzo próximos serán vacunados los adultos mayores y los enfermos crónicos, y sucesivamente se aplicará por rangos de edad, de mayores a menores.
Con 128 millones de habitantes, México se ubica cuarto en números absolutos de la pandemia, y ayer registró nuevos records de contagios y fallecimientos, con 22.339 infecciones y 1803 muertes. El total de contagiados es de 1.711.283 y el de fallecidos de 146.174.
Solo Estados Unidos, Brasil e India tienen peores registros.
A nivel nacional, hay una ocupación hospitalaria del 61%, con la capital y el vecino Estado de México entre las regiones con menor número de camas disponibles para la atención de los enfermos.
El incremento en contagios y decesos se concentra en zonas densamente pobladas como la capital y su vasta zona conurbana, donde viven unos 23 millones de personas, epicentro de la pandemia en el país latinoamericano.
México tiene también acuerdos de compra con el proyecto chino-canadiense CanSinoBio, por 35 millones de dosis, y es parte del mecanismo internacional COVAX, que le permitirá comprar 51,6 millones de vacunas adicionales.
La semana pasada, el Gobierno anunció además un plan para adquirir 24 millones de unidades de la rusa Sputnik V, una vez que el regulador autorice su uso de emergencia.
