El titular del Jockey Club San Francisco, Andrés Balkenende aludió a la difícil temporada arrasada por el Covid- 19 en la que igualmente se pudo apuntalar a la familia del turf y llevar a cabo cuatro exitosas reuniones.
El presidente del Jockey Club San Francisco, Andrés Balkenende analizó la atípica temporada atravesada por el Covid-19, complejo escenario al que debió adaptarse para sostener a la familia del turf, una gestión cumplida con creces que le permitió respirar con tranquilidad junto a la comisión que encabeza.
El dirigente además se mostró satisfecho con lo actuado en el acotado calendario donde se pudo dar continuidad a La Carrera del Año gracias al respaldo del Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería de Córdoba y en ese sentido abogó para que los gobernantes de turno atiendan a una actividad que se traduce en una importante fuente de trabajo.
-¿Qué opinión te mereció la temporada 2020 con la escasa actividad?
-El 2020 fue atípico para el mundo, nunca pensamos tener un año tan accidentado por el tema de la pandemia, y bueno, los dirigentes de las instituciones no esperábamos todo esto, nos fuimos adaptando cómo pudimos, en nuestro caso tuvimos que sacar un crédito en el Banco de Córdoba para poder pagar los primeros meses de sueldos, que ahora gracias a un período que nos dieron de cuotas en pesos lo vamos a poder cumplir, pero no queríamos dejar de pagarles a los empleados que tampoco tienen la culpa de todo esto.
Fue un contexto de mucha lucha, y con gestiones a nivel local y provincial pudimos empezar a correr tras la flexibilización haciendo tres reuniones de gran categoría, con buenos premios y organización acordes a los que necesita la actividad, sobresaliendo entre los clubes de la región Centro, por lo cual cumplimos con la gente del turf, con nuestros cuidadores, jockey, propietarios. En definitiva el Jockey Club San Francisco cumplió con toda la familia del turf y eso nos dejó tranquilos a toda la dirigencia y a la comisión de carreras.
-Pudieron organizar otra edición de La Carrera del Año en un complicado panorama...
-Como venía todo teníamos pensado no realizarla ya que es una carrera de prestigio y buenos premios, pero tuvimos la suerte que el Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería de Córdoba, a través de su ministro Sergio Busso, nos dio un subsidio para correrla, de otro modo hubiese sido imposible realizarla.
Entonces nuestro agradecimiento para el doctor Busso quien entiende la actividad, promociona la industria del turf y que le viene muy bien a Córdoba porque genera muchos puestos de trabajo y toma mucha gente como veterinarios, transportistas, peones, vareadores, herreros, empleados de los clubes.
En realidad el turf es una industria sin chimeneas que los gobernantes de turno deben atender porque genera mucho trabajo.
-¿Quedaron conformes con las cuatro reuniones realizadas?
-Quedamos satisfechos, por ejemplo hacía 40 años que no había una carrera de 1600 metros en San Francisco, también hubo de 1400 y 1200 metros, realmente para nosotros fue un logro impresionante y todas con la participación de numerosos caballos de muy buen nivel.
-¿La televisación a través de You Tube les dio un salto de calidad?
-Con respecto a la transmisión por You Tube ya hace varios años que veníamos incursionando en el tema aunque con algunas imperfecciones, pero en la pandemia al no poder concurrir la gente como se hacía habitualmente no quedó otra opción que seguir haciéndolo pero sin esas imperfecciones.
Hubo entonces gente muy capacitada, con cámaras de filmación de alta definición, eso llevó a tener la pista ordenada, las gateras, los horarios acomodados, un montón de detalles que antes no eran tan formales y que con la televisión no se podía fallar.
Por el tema de la pandemia avanzamos mucho en la televisación y creo que fue lo que nos diferenció de muchos otros clubes que hicieron carreras, por la imagen y todos los sistemas de cómputos que mostramos.
-¿Qué esperas para el 2021?
-Para el 2021 ya hay un cronograma de carreras que comienza el 9 de febrero, tenemos 30 carreras en todo el año, todo bajo esta misma normativa y realmente es un calendario hípico muy tentador como para suplir el vacío que tuvimos durante el 2020.
Espero que con la llegada de la vacuna todo mejore, es el deseo que tenemos todos los argentinos, que la pandemia cese. Es un deseo, mientras tanto lo iremos manejando con el COE, la Municipalidad de San Francisco, el Gobierno de Córdoba, para encarar paso a paso nuestra actividad.
-¿Algo para agregar?
-Un agradecimiento a toda la comisión del Jockey Club de San Francisco, a la comisión de carreras, a todos los empleados del club que sin ellos no podríamos hacer nada, la verdad que tenemos un grupo maravilloso, también al gremio de la Utta (Unión de Trabajadores del Turf y Afines) que a través de su secretario general, Carlos Felice y Santiago Britos, delegado de la provincia de Córdoba, están siempre codo a codo con nuestros empleados y con nuestra comisión directiva.
También un agradecimiento a los cuidadores, vareadores, propietarios y a LA VOZ DE SAN JUSTO por su acompañamiento.
