El esfuerzo para que la bocha siga rodando
El club de hockey "Polideportivo San Francisco" cuenta con 65 jugadores de 5 a 17 años. A pesar de cobrar una cuota accesible, reconocieron que cada vez son más los que abandonan por la crisis. Profesores ad honorem y ventas a beneficio son algunos de los artilugios para que los chicos puedan seguir jugando.
Los martes, jueves y viernes por la tarde la bocha rueda por una de las canchas del Polideportivo Municipal de San Francisco. Allí, 65 niños -entre 5 y 17 años- y adolescentes del club denominado "Polideportivo San Francisco" que llegan de los barrios Parque, San Cayetano, La Florida y Sarmiento, también de Frontera y Acapulco (Josefina), practican hockey sobre césped.
A los jugadores los forma un grupo de profesores y padres ad honorem motivados por las ganas de ver a los chicos divertirse. La cuota de $150 que se les cobra se utiliza para pagar el seguro y solventar gastos. En tanto, por la crisis, muchas familias de los jugadores pueden pagarla y abandonan.
Para paliar esta situación, la comisión directiva y padres organizaron rifas y ventas pero cada vez se hace más difícil afrontar la situación.
Para aportar un granito de arena, el partido político Juntos por el Cambio en nuestra ciudad, por iniciativa de la concejal electa Cecilia Roffé, recientemente entregó elementos como palos, bochas, remeras, medias y objetos de entrenamiento para seguir alimentando la pasión por esta disciplina y que la bocha siga rodando.
"Es muy emocionante ver a chicos con su palo de hockey y una bocha entrenando pero a veces dejan de hacerlo porque no pueden pagar la cuota. Cuando esto empezó en 2009, eran muchísimos más los que venían y ahora el número se redujo", comentó Angélica Arredondo, profesora y coordinadora de las divisiones Infantiles y Primera del equipo.
"Si bien contamos con el espacio físico para entrenar que es el Polideportivo San Francisco, todo lo que ingresa es para el club pero con eso no alcanza, por eso hacemos bingos, sorteos y rifas porque son muchos los gastos", confió Arredondo.
Diez años de hockey
Arredondo, que se hizo cargo de la categoría Infantiles hace siete años, recordó los inicios del grupo que surgió como un proyecto municipal del exintendente Martín Llaryora. "El grupo se creó en 2009 bajo el nombre `Leoncitas CEF´ pero con el tiempo cambió su nombre por `Polideportivo San Francisco´. Los chicos tenían su palo y su bocha pero como en todo deporte se fueron necesitando elementos de seguridad y de entrenamiento, ropa y demás cosas que hicieron que se necesite cobrar una cuota".
A la coordinadora la acompañan su hermano Gustavo Arredondo, su esposo Miguel Cabrera y Jorge Chávez. "Como no es un deporte con tanto peso en la ciudad como el fútbol, cuesta mucho más mantenerlo. Es una pena porque el hockey es sano, divertido y cultiva la amistad. Lamentablemente hay que hacer un enorme esfuerzo para que los chicos sigan jugando", concluyó la entrevistada.
