El "Cata" Díaz es refuerzo de Chicago
El defensor que cumplirá 40 años en los próximos días selló su vínculo con el "Torito" con vistas a la próxima temporada de la B Nacional. El ex-Boca se había retirado en febrero pero decidió volver al fútbol.
El defensor Daniel Alberto "Cata" Díaz es flamante refuerzo de Nueva Chicago, confirmó el club de Mataderos en su cuenta oficial de Twitter.
"Hace instantes, Daniel "Cata" Díaz estampó la firma y se convirtió en refuerzo de Nueva Chicago de cara al torneo 2019/2020", reza el anuncio del "Torito" de Mataderos, que milita en la B Nacional.
"Le damos la bienvenida al Cata y le deseamos el mayor de los éxitos", cerró el comunicado del club, que hoy justamente celebra sus 108 años de vida como institución deportiva.
Daniel Díaz, de 39 años (el 13 de julio cumple 40) y apodado "Cata" por su origen catamarqueño, fue figura descollante de Boca Juniors desde la temporada 2005 hasta 2017, donde cosechó los campeonatos nacionales de 2005, 2006 y 2015.
También alzó copas internacionales en el equipo "xeneize" como la Copa Libertadores 2007, las Recopas Sudamericanas 2005 y 2006; y la Copa Sudamericana 2005.
En febrero de este año, Díaz había anunciado su retiro del fútbol, dio marcha atrás y se sumó a Nueva Chicago y además de Boca Juniors, el "Cata" jugó en Rosario Central, donde se inició futbolísticamente, Colón de Santa Fe, Cruz Azul de México, y Getafe, Atlético Madrid y Fuenlabrada, todos de España.
De este modo ya son cinco los refuerzos del "Torito" de Mataderos debido a que anteriormente se habían incorporado Horacio Martínez (Atlanta), Federico Vasilchik (Ferro Carril Oeste de General Pico), Gonzalo Menéndez y Santiago González (San Lorenzo).
