Chiqui Ruella: “La gente nos elige porque se siente como en su casa”
A los 55 años y con mucho mundo recorrido, el dueño de Chiqui Night se prepara para otro desafío en el negocio y afirma que en cada paso que da lo acompaña el legado de su “maestro”. “Víctor Bertorello fue un visionario; me enseñó a ser emprendedor”.
En la puerta de entrada del pub que está en el corazón de barrio La Milka está apostado un verdadero personaje de la noche. Con gorra y ropa deportiva, pero con sus dos cadenas de cruces más valiosas simbólicamente hablando, espera a Posta para la entrevista con LVSJ / POSTA.
Serio, de pocas sonrisas pero con una claridad absoluta de saber, conocer y haber experimentado la noche. Se trata de Francisco “Chiqui” Ruella, el propietario de Chiqui Night, el bar que nació en 2006 y que fue creciendo a tal punto, que se convirtió en un verdadero punto de referencia de la noche sanfrancisqueña pero además, llevará este edificio nocturno a otro nivel con una obra arquitectónica en su espacio exterior que, los que sabe y conocen boliches de la noche, afirman que es algo nunca visto.
“Dicen que no hay lugares como este en la Argentina, y lo creo porque lo que estamos haciendo es una gran obra, única en su tipo”, dijo "el Chiqui" desde el primer piso del moderno patio que está creando desde hace dos años.
Inspirado en sus viajes en crucero; dos escalinatas rodean la cabina a cielo abierto del disc jockey. En la planta baja, hay una cascada de importancia, pero, además, distintos espacios de descanso con piedras y detalles medievales. También hay palmeras importadas que Ruella vio alguna vez en un viaje a Miami.
En la parte superior, una enorme rueda hará las veces de inicio de una cascada de agua que bajará desde lo alto y sorprenderá a los visitantes abajo. Toda una inspiración europea, al mejor estilo Ibiza.
Pero eso no es todo. Cuando todo esté listo, colocará luminarias de última generación con la potencia de las luces que iluminan las costas de los mares. Un proyecto por demás ambicioso que solo él puede hacer, como lo hizo con Chiqui Night.
De joven desafió el mandato familiar, cambió la carrera de Medicina por tocar el piano en la mítica confitería Maui y persiguió sus sueños: viajar y vivir de la noche.
Los comienzos
El fundador de Chiqui Night se animó a llevar la noche a un barrio de la periferia de la ciudad. “Todos dudaban si funcionaría o no. Este lugar era mío y acá quería comenzar este proyecto. Al principio iba a poner una rotisería pero no era lo mío. Después, agregue un metegol, una mesa de pool y de las fiestas privadas y fiestas, a la gente le gustaba este lugar y se empezó a quedar”.
Viernes y sábados por la noche, no cabe un alfiler. Boliche o bar, “a eso lo define la gente. Hay cumpleaños, recibidas. La gente nos elige porque se siente como en su casa”.
El “gringo”, mi mentor
“El Chiqui” comenzó su vida nocturna tocando el piano para Maui, a los 20 años. “Mi papá era médico y él quería que estudie medicina de hecho, me anoté en la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba pero empecé a tocar el piano en Maui y en ese momento comenzó mi vida en la noche, siguiéndolo a Víctor y siempre escuchándolo”, recordó.
Para el empresario de la noche, Bertorello “él fue mi maestro y de tantas codas que él hizo, fui aprendiendo porque realmente fue un visionario. Muchas veces hacía cosas que no sabíamos cómo lo lograba. El todo lo conseguía”.
“El me enseñó a ser emprendedor. Tengo un objetivo que es terminar con el patio. Estoy todos los días trabajando acá más de 16 horas por día. Falta para terminar, pero cuando viajo, veo algo nuevo, sigo atrasando su inauguración”.
Ruella lleva 25 años sin consumir alcohol y hoy, lo acompaña el mate amargo. “Estar bien me permite ver las cosas de otra manera”, sostuvo.
Siempre hacia adelante, apuesta a la ciudad desde su costado como emprendedor y por eso no baja los brazos.
