Cerúndolo avanza en la qualy de Australia
El tenista argentino Francisco Cerúndolo, número 139 del ranking mundial, superó hoy la primera ronda de la clasificación previa del Abierto de Australia, tras vencer al español Guillermo García López (222) por 6-2 y 6-4 en la ciudad de Doha, Qatar.

Los otros cuatro argentinos que tuvieron acción este domingo acabaron eliminados: Facundo Bagnis -décimo favorito- cayó frente al indio Ramkumar Ramanathan 7-6 (6) y 7-5 y Marco Trungelliti (243) perdió con el alemán Maximilian Marterer por 4-6, 6-4 y 6-4.
Luego Facundo Mena (237) se despidió ante el ruso Evgeny Karlovskiy 3-6, 6-3 y 6-2 y Andrea Collarini (203) fue derrotado por el brasileño Joao Menezes 1-6, 7-6 (8) y 6-3.
Mañana, en el segundo día de la competencia, se presentarán Guido Andreozzi (166) ante el australiano Tristan Schoolkate y Renzo Olivo (212) con el alemán Julian Lenz.
El Abierto de Australia, primer Grand Slam de la temporada de tenis, no tendrá lugar este año en su habitual fecha de la segunda quincena de enero sino que fue reprogramado del 8 al 21 de febrero para que los jugadores puedan cumplir en ese país los 14 días de cuarentena que exige el gobierno local.
Por esa razón sanitaria, la clasificación previa del torneo con sede en Melbourne se desarrolla en Doha.
