Al menos dos muertos en nuevas protestas reprimidas en Venezuela; ya suman 33 en menos de un mes
Miles de venezolanos salieron nuevamente a las calles de las principales ciudades a protestar contra el gobierno.
El gobierno de Venezuela volvió a oponer ayer un férreo cerrojo militar y policial a las marchas opositoras que pretendían llegar hasta las sedes de la Defensoría del Pueblo en las principales ciudades del país, contexto en el que murieron al menos dos manifestantes, lo que elevó a 33 la cantidad de personas fallecidas en las protestas realizadas en lo que va de abril.
Mientras tanto, la canciller Delcy Rodríguez anunció que el gobierno presentará hoy su nota de denuncia de la Carta de la Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA), lo que significa la renuncia a integrar el organismo, en un proceso que demorará dos años en tener en efecto, luego de que el Consejo Permanente de la entidad llamara a una reunión de cancilleres para analizar la situación en Venezuela.
Miles de venezolanos salieron nuevamente a las calles de las principales ciudades a protestar ayer contra el gobierno del presidente Nicolás Maduro, convocados por la Mesa de la Unidad Democrática (MUD) que nuclea a una veintena de partidos opositores.
Por séptima vez en lo que va de abril, la coalición opositora pretendía que las marchas llegaran hasta las sedes de la Defensoría del Pueblo, pero las autoridades dispusieron un severo operativo militar y policial para impedirlo.
Solo en Caracas, miles de personas volvieron a congregarse en 26 puntos de la ciudad con el objeto de converger frente a la Defensoría, pero cientos de efectivos de la Policía Nacional Bolivariana (PNB) y de la Guardia Nacional Bolivariana (GNB, policía militar) lo evitaron.
Los uniformados dispararon decenas de bombas de gas lacrimógeno contra los manifestantes, a quienes, igual que en las ocasiones anteriores, impidieron directamente el ingreso a la jurisdicción de Libertador, uno de los cinco municipios que forman Caracas y dentro del cual están las sedes de las principales oficinas estatales.
Una de esas bombas impactó esta tarde en la cara de Juan Pablo Pernalete, de 20 años, quien se manifestaba en la zona de Altamira, y le causó la muerte, según anunció el alcalde del municipio caraqueño Chacao, Ramón Muchacho, en su cuenta de Twitter.
Asimismo, Efraín Sierra, de 28 años, falleció tras recibir "un tiro en el estómago" mientras "se desplazaba desde su casa hasta su área de trabajo" en San Cristóbal, capital del estado andino Táchira, informó el gobernador, capitán José Vielma Mora, según consignó la agencia EFE.
La lista de víctimas fatales, que hasta ayer sumaba 30, se había ampliado esta mañana, cuando el Ministerio Público reportó en un comunicado que Christián Ochoa, de 22 años, murió anoche tras recibir varios balazos en la noche del lunes en Valencia, capital del estado Carabobo.
También en Caracas, alumnos de una escuela primaria en Los Chaguaramos fueron desalojados esta mañana luego de que efectivos de la GNB lanzaran bombas lacrimógenas cerca de donde esperaban "para tomar el autobús", según denunció el diputado José Guerra.
Asimismo, el diario caraqueño El Nacional publicó que guardias nacionales arrojaron granadas lacrimógenas hacia el sanatorio Las Mercedes, donde eran atendidos manifestantes lesionados durante los incidentes, tal como ya había sucedido el 10 de este mes.
Con el objeto de dificultar las protestas en Caracas, el gobierno cerró completamente la red de subterráneos y las líneas de colectivos vinculadas a ella, y restringió a un carril en cada sentido la circulación de automotores en las principales autopistas, incluida la que comunica a la ciudad con el aeropuerto internacional de Maiquetía, en la vecina La Guaira.
Mientras tanto, la Asamblea Nacional (parlamento con mayoría opositora) anunció que mañana sesionará en la calle y dio tres días al defensor del Pueblo, el chavista Tarek William Saab, para que califique como "falta grave" los fallos recientes del Tribunal Supremo de Justicia (TSJ) limitando la inmunidad de los diputados y arrogándose la facultad de legislar, con los que la oposición consideró que el gobierno dio un "autogolpe de estado".
Además, creó una comisión para investigar la conducta de Saab en relación con esos fallos del TSJ y con la situación del líder opositor preso Leopoldo López, de quien sus familiares y correligionarios afirman que está ilegalmente aislado en la cárcel.
Por otra parte, el Consejo Permanente de la OEA aprobó convocar a una reunión de cancilleres, a la que no puso fecha ni sede, para analizar la situación en Venezuela. Entre los países que votaron a favor de la iniciativa figuran la Argentina, Brasil, Colombia, Estados Unidos, México, Paraguay y Uruguay.
Venezuela había advertido que abandonaría la OEA si se aprobaba el llamado a la reunión de sus colegas, pero el secretario de Asuntos Jurídicos del organismo, Jean Michel Arrighi, explicó que la renuncia de un país como miembro es efectiva solo dos años después de presentada y que, además, antes debe pagar la deuda de 8,7 millones de dólares que mantiene con la organización.
Además, el martes próximo, en San Salvador, se realizará, a pedido de Venezuela, una reunión extraordinaria de cancilleres de los países miembros de la Comunidad de Estados Latinoamericanos y Caribeños (Celac).
